I am so excited. Starting Saturday I’m actually on vacation from work until January 2nd. When you work for yourself you don’t take full vacations very often. This is the first time I’ve taken more than a few days since I started my business 4.5 years ago. It’s hard to walk away and leave your clients waiting. But Christmas is one of the slowest times for most of my clients, so this year I decided to bite the bullet and tell them all I was going to be spending the time offline. Well, I won’t be fully offline, that’s SO not me! But I will be trying to not even look at my work next week.
Instead I’m going to bake and sled and play games and enjoy my family. We have a long list of things we are hoping to do – not sure how many of them will actually happen, but I can’t wait to at least try to fit them all in! Here are some of our ideas in case you need suggestions for cold weather fun:
- Skiing (never been – need to take lessons!)
- Snowman making
- Gingerbread houses
- Video game day
- Board games
- Movie nights
- Telus World of Science
I may or may not post here, but given how little I’ve been posting lately, let’s guess not. So I want to take this time to wish you all a happy holidays and a wonderful start to 2013. I hope I’m a little more present here in 2013, I need to find ways to streamline my work so I feel ok making time for my blog (and even more importantly, making more time for things like running and eating healthy so I have something to blog about!) But let’s save that talk for next week….or next year!
