Sleepless in Soccerville
My new motto needs to be sleep more, stress less. Because really it is crazy to go to bed at a semi-early hour and then not sleep because your brain keeps whirling away wondering what drills you should run in your next practice, and if the game was lost just because the kids haven’t been playing long or if they lost because of YOU and your coaching skills (lack of coaching skills to be honest). I truly had no idea that coaching soccer was going to be such a stressful experience for me. I feel so responsible for how my team does plus there is just so much going on in life at this time of year between work, soccer, baseball, the end of the school year, etc, I’m feeling overwhelmed. And so my brain doesn’t shut down easily and I don’t sleep. And then you can add exhaustion to the list of problems the next day. Vicious cycle right? Well, at least the soccerville experience will be over at the end of June. Well, unless we get into the tournament in July….
