Summer and the WAHM
I’m pretty sure last summer wasn’t this hectic. This summer is already challenging my work-at-home abilities though. I think my hopes for many afternoons at the beach might have been a tad unrealistic (although I did get to a beach on Monday, for an hour, as per my pretty featured pic). Maybe I need to buy an extra laptop battery. Or something.
It’s weird how adding two boys has made it so different. My little guy and I had a good routine going. It may have involved a bit too much tv for him (I know, I know), but I think because of school and activities I was forced to step away from the computer. Which is a good thing. Now I’m just all over the map with my work hours, or so it feels, plus I’ve spent way too many late nights trying to fit things in. And I haven’t been running much which is making me cranky and frustrated and just disorganized. I need to get on track. Although because it’s summer, every time I get on track I’ll probably just get right back off for some reason or other. Next week we’re heading to Revelstoke for a long weekend. The next week is Capital EX, which involves some time away from the desk for a parade, a day on the rides and a stop by Taste of Edmonton. Yum (pulled pork sliders – I’m looking at you!) but busy, busy.
Okay, not much time to write now, just needed to share a little. Now I’m going to go and run already, before I forget how. Then I’m making plans to go to the beach tomorrow. I really should remember to take Saturdays off after all!
