Work at Home Wednesday
I haven’t talked much on this blog about working from home. For a while being a work at home mom was the focus of my Mobile Mommy blog and I think I got a bit burnt out on the subject. Plus I started to worry that what I said would be ready by clients/potential clients and I felt like I couldn’t say anything negative. Now I realize I just need to be honest and me, so it is what it is. Don’t worry clients/potential clients – I work hard and meet my deadlines even if I have bad days sometimes, lol!
So I’m going to try and do a weekly post focusing on my life as a work-at-home mom. Today’s Topic: The End of Christmas Break (also known as Thank Goodness the Kids Are Back in School). Working at home over Christmas break was not too bad this year. I was smart enough to tell my clients I would be taking several days off. Then I suddenly had to attend a family funeral the day I said I’d be back at work. I ended up working in the car while we drove to the funeral. Not so fun, but doable thankfully. The second week of Christmas vacation was a little more challenging. Kids started to get bored, weather was nice but my yard was an icy mess (and it’s all sloping, so that was dangerous) and I was feeling bombarded by noise. Three boys I have, which means a lot of noise! Now today I’m working from home with only one boy, who is much quieter alone, even though he is 4 and can create quite the ruckus if he wants. I’m very, very grateful Christmas break is over and I have more quiet again. Hmmmm, it’s almost too quiet though…..better go turn some music on. Bye for now.
